In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV)
When I hear the words, “thank you.” My heart and mind are flooded with hymns of praise. For example, the hymn “Thank You Lord, For, Saving My Soul” by Seth and Bessie Sykes.
It says in God’s Word to give thanks for everything—yes, everything! It is easy to give thanks when all is good, but difficult to “give thanks in everything” including the hard times, too. In all things—in the flat tires of life, in brokenness, suffering, grief, devastation, the waiting, the job, the relationship, the marriage, loneliness, illness, finances, or the kids. Is there an “Everything” for you, that seems impossible to be thankful for?
Can we still give thanks and sing praises, unto The Lord
Thank you, God, for your love and your presence. Thank you, God, for your faithfulness, your mercies, and your grace. Thank you, God, for the beauty of your creation. Thank you, God, for your word and your promises. Most of all, thank you, God, for the gift of your Son, Jesus Christ.
“ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have
everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to
condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
John 3:16-17
These are reasons enough to say thank you!
I am reminded of a song from The Katina’s “I Wanna Say Thank You.”
“Here I am with all I have”
In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God. What are you thankful for today?

Rejoicing in life and life eternal, while holding onto hope always!
What a wonderful reminder to be thankful for every breath we take and the many blessings God gives us each and every day.
